Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Adobe Photoshop
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Adobe Photoshop, computer application software used to edit and manipulate digital images. Photoshop was developed in 1987 by the American brothers Thomas and John Knoll, who sold the distribution license to Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1988.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will practice different tools and techniques and gradually show your success!
This will save the file to your Arts & Media folder!
Shortcut: Shift + Ctrl + S
(or File: SAVE AS)
Save to YOUR COMPUTER!
Click the Save on Your Computer button
On the left click THIS PC
Select Desktop
Select Arts and Media Folder
Name the document:
"First Name Last Name MODEL"
Click SAVE
To select just the shape of the model.
Choose Select Subject and then choose Select And Mask to enter the Select And Mask workspace.
In the Properties panel of the Select And Mask workspace, move the Shift Edge slider to the left to refine the edges of the selection, and choose Output To Selection. Note: when leaving Select And Mask, the original background comes back; you’ll fix this in the next step.
With the model layer selected, click on the Add Layer Mask icon.
Photoshop masked (or hid) anything that was not selected, so the gray wall disappeared and the selected model remained.
We want to match the lighting of the model with that of the background.
To do this, duplicate the New Background layer (Drag the layer to the + at the bottom of the Layers panel),
Move the copy layer ABOVE the model layer (drag the layer ABOVE the MODEL layer)
Choose Filter > Blur > Average. The layer should turn a solid green color!
To create a clipping mask out of the layer:
Hover between the New Background copy layer and the model layer
Alt-click between two layers to create a clipping mask.
In the Layers Panel, with the green layer selected, set the Blend Mode to Soft Light, and reduce the Opacity setting. (click the pull down in the Layers panel where you see NORMAL)
Now apply a dark blue Solid Color adjustment layer to give each of the layers below it a finishing color cast.
Set the Blend Mode in the Layers Panel to Soft Light and also reduce the adjustment layer’s Opacity setting.
you can take your photos’ subjects anywhere in the world (or even out of this world)!
