Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

What is Premier Rush?

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Premiere Rush is the video editing app for newcomers and casual users. With a simple and intuitive set of video editing tools, this all-in-one app makes it easy to learn the ropes and get started editing a video project right away.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will practice different tools and techniques and gradually show your success!
Let's create a new project in RUSH
Premiere Rush
ZIP files contain one or more files compressed with ZIP compression.
ZIP is format that supports lossless data compression.
We need to grab a few files first!
Click the ZIP Image on the left!
We'll go import these files soon!
Left click the DOWNLOAD button on the top right
It should ask where to save the folder!
Choose the RUSH FLES>YMCA folder (on your desktop)!
Go to your YMCA folder!
RIGHT click the ZIP folder
Select EXTRACT ALL
Click EXTRACT (at the bottom)
*Files will now be a folder in your YMCA folder!
Open Premiere Rush
To start a new project, simply click on the blue “Create a New Project” button
Or select FILE>New Project
On the left...
Select DESKTOP
Open the YMCA_media Folder (its the one we just Extracted NOT the zip file!)
Select the MP3 file!

Name the Project...
On the bottom left name your project: First name Last Name YMCA
Make sure the button "Sync with Creative Cloud" is checked!
Click Create
Add a TITLE to the beginning of the video...
On the top right, Click the GRAPHICS/TEXT (T) icon
Click +Add Graphic
Click Titles...More> Select one and click ADD
On the right we can adjust the assets (like font, color etc!)
To change the actual text, simply type where you see the text on the main frame!
Title it "YMCA!"
The title should last as long as the intro to the song (before they begin singing!)...So you will need to move it to the front and shorten it!
Add the first image...000_YMCA
Click the + on the top left
Select YOUR MEDIA
Go to your YMCA_Media folder
Add image 000_YMCA!
Click ADD
Once the image is in, you might need to move the song and title to the beginning!
Click on the text row and pull it to the left until it is at the beginning, repeat for the song!
Edit the image and title to match the song...
Stretch the photo and the title to around 15 seconds (we will shorten this in a moment!)
Then, move the playhead to the left (beginning)
Click on the title (YMCA...should be the top row)
Play (>) the song (Play button is under the main screen or press space)
Pause the song (Pause (II) button now replaces the play button) when they begin singing
It might take a few times to get this right. You can move the playhead back and forth to find the spot you want!
Hover over the right edge of the YMCA title
When the yellow bracket/arrow appears pull it left or right to line up with the playhead
Once you find the exact time right before they begin to sing, pull the right adjustment handle to line up with the playhead
Select the 1st image
Hover over the right edge of the 1st image
When the yellow bracket/arrow appears pull it left or right to line up with the length of the title
Add more images...
Click the + on the top left
Select YOUR MEDIA
Go to your YMCA_Media folder
Add images 001_YMCA through 008_YMCA in order!
Click on the Images IN ORDER: 001_YMCA, 002_YMCA, 003_YMCA, 004_YMCA, 005_YMCA, 006_YMCA, 007_YMCA, 008_YMCA...in order!
Click ADD
The "Extra" images in the folder, we can add at the end! Some images we will duplicate while editing!
The bottom slider can be adjusted to see the images and how they align better. Simply pull right or left on the "handle" (dot)!
Also, each piece of media (image, sound, graphic etc) can be moved by dragging the item where you want it!
Edit the images to match the song...
Click on the added images and adjust them TO BE LONGER THAN THE LYRIC (for now)
Play (>) the song (Play button is under the main screen) or press SPACE bar
Pause the song (Pause (II) button now replaces the play button) Just before each new verse begins
Adjust the image (pull the handle to the left) to end before the next verse!
It might take a few times to get this right. You can move the playhead back and forth to find the spot you want!
Edit the images to match the song...
To adjust the image to match the lyrics...
Click on each image
When highlighted YELLOW, pull the right side to shorten (or lengthen) the image!
Tip: Hover over the right end of the selected image and wait to see a bracket with an arrow! Pull it to the left to shorten!!
Listen to the song and match the image to the lyric
Now start adding the remaining images and editing as you go!
Tip: Add small sections at a time (like the 1st part of the chorus) then edit...then add the next images and edit etc!

Tip: the chorus will be duplicated! Make the edits to the first images THEN duplicate and move to the repeat of the chorus!
MONDAY, we will add all of the lyrics to the video!
