If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop 

Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

Click on the square that says iReady 

Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all. 

Using what we have learned!

Let's create some basic Christmas items!

First...

Let's work on the PRESENT layer!

TURN the PRESENT LAYER ON!

Turn ALL the other Layers OFF! 

Make sure you have selected the PRESENT layer

Create a Square on the Present layer

Using the rectangle tool...

Create a Square by holding down the SHIFT KEY

Alt, Click and Pull up!

With the SELECT TOOL (V)

ALT, Click and pull up to duplicate the square...

Pay attention to the Magenta guides to keep the Squares aligned!

Use handles to adjust...

With the second square still selected...

Use the handles to adjust the size of the square like the image left!

Fill with color

Change the fill to green or another color of your choice!





Alt, Click and Pull right!

With the SELECT TOOL (V)

Select ALL (Ctrl + A)

ALT, Click and pull to the right to duplicate the shapes...

Pay attention to the Magenta guides to keep the Squares aligned!

Change color while still selected

With the duplicates still selected, change the color to RED (or another color of your choice)

Change color while still selected

With the duplicates still selected, Pull the center, right handle to the left to adjust the width of both shapes








Use the left arrow to nudge the shapes to the center


Press Ctrl + S to SAVE!!! Do this often!


Group your shapes!

Select ALL (ctrl + A)

Press Ctrl + G to group the shapes!

 

Create a Bow...

Use the polygon tool...

Click and pull...HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY... to make A TRIANGLE.

If it has more than three sides, pull the widget on the right side up until it is a triangle!

Change the fill color to the same as the center color "ribbon" (red on this image)

Pull the widget inward to round the edges of the triangle

Using the ROTATE TOOL

With your TRIANGLE still selected, double click the ROTATE TOOL to bring up the dialog box

Enter 30 for the Angle and click OK!

Alt, Click and Pull right!

With the SELECT TOOL (V)

ALT, Click and pull to the right to duplicate the triangle...

Pay attention to the Magenta guides to keep the Squares aligned!

Reflect tool

With the second triangle still selected...

Click and hold the Rotate tool icon on the tool bar to select the REFLECT TOOL

Double click the Refect Tool icon to show the dialog box

Reflect tool box...

Double click the Reflect Tool icon to show the dialog box

Choose VERTICAL 

90° 

Click OK

The triangle should flip!

With the SELECT TOOL (V)

Hold the shift key down and select both triangles

move the triangles to the top of the box (like a bow)

Use the Ellipse tool (L)

Make a circle for the center of the bow!


Group your shapes!

Select ALL (ctrl + A)

Press Ctrl + G to group the shapes!

Press Ctrl + S to SAVE!!! Do this often!


SHOW ME ON YOUR SCREEN!!

Do not close Illustrator until your work is verified!!!

Now...try these!

To save computer memory for other students using the computers....

We will CLOSE THE PROGRAM! 

Click the X on the top right corner of Illustrator!
