If you are finished or waiting, work on Clever!

Students click on the Clever icon on the desktop 

Sign in using the username & password (same as logging into computer)

Click on the square that says iReady 

Continue until time is up!

Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all. 

Get to know Photoshop!

What you NEED to know!!!!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Adobe Photoshop

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Adobe Photoshop, computer application software used to edit and manipulate digital images. Photoshop was developed in 1987 by the American brothers Thomas and John Knoll, who sold the distribution license to Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1988.  ​

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED:  You will practice different tools and techniques and gradually show your success!

Place text behind an object 2

A popular design trick is to make text look like it's behind an object in a photo. It's frequently used in advertising, especially on magazine covers.

Aachen Std Bold

We need to grab a file first!

Click the Ps Image on the left!

Left click the DOWNLOAD button on the top right

This will save the file to your Arts & Media folder!

SAVE (as) YOUR DOCUMENT!

Shortcut: Shift + Ctrl + S

(or File: SAVE AS)


Save to YOUR COMPUTER!

Click the Save on Your Computer button

On the left click THIS PC

Select Desktop

Select Arts and Media Folder

Name the document: 

"First Name Last Name SOCCER"

Click SAVE

Select the Horizontal Type tool

Click on the image and type in all caps:

GASTON

SOCCER

Choose a BOLD/HEAVY FONT (like Aachen Std Bold) and size it up like the image above


Move text into position like above image

Duplicate Soccer Layer

(Drag the layer into the + at the bottom of the layers panel)

You should now have a layer named Soccer Copy

Drag the Soccer copy layer ABOVE the GASTON SOCCER text layer

Make sure the Soccer Copy Layer is still selected!

Click Select (from top menu)>Subject

Wait for Photoshop to select the player! 

Note: sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't...it depends on the photo!

Create a layer mask

Click on the Add Layer Mask Icon on the bottom of the layers panel

Press Ctrl + S to SAVE!!! Do this often!


Beyond the tutorial....

Select the GASTON SOCCER text layer 

Click Layer (top menu)...Select DROP SHADOW

Set the Structure... Color (click the box to the right of the blend mode drop down) to Black, Opacity to 50%, Angle to 132, Distance 39, Spread 31 and Size to 38 (or play around with the settings!)

On the Layers Panel...

Set the FILL for the GASTON SOCCER text layer to 0%

This is but a small step of Layer adjustments and text features!

Press Ctrl + S to SAVE!!! Do this often!


SHOW ME ON YOUR SCREEN!!

Do NOT close PHOTOSHOP until your work is verified!!!

To get credit!

Raise your hand and show me on your screen! Then...

Click UPLOAD FROM THIS DEVICE

Find the PHOTOSHOP  file we were just working on!


REMEMBER! YOU ARE ATTACHING THE Photoshop File! 

DO NOT EXPORT THE FILES!!!!

NOTE: There MUST be a Adobe Photoshop files attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!

ONE PHOTOSHOP  file should be attached!
