Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Adobe Photoshop, computer application software used to edit and manipulate digital images. Photoshop was developed in 1987 by the American brothers Thomas and John Knoll, who sold the distribution license to Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1988.

Let's Create a realistic Tattoo!

Today we will apply a virtual tattoo by combining two images. Change blend modes, apply a layer mask and warp the artwork to create a realistic mockup!

Blend mode...

Select the TATTOO Layer

Change the blend mode of the TATTOO layer from Normal to Multiply!

This will blend the colors of the tattoo with the model's skin, making the tattoo more realistic!

Opacity...

Reduce the layer opacity to about 80%

Layer Mask...

With the Tattoo layer still selected, click the Layer Mask icon on the bottom of the Layers Palette

Brush...

Select the BRUSH Tool (left in the toolbox).

If it is already selected, click another tool and then back on the brush

Click the Brush Preset picker (top left of screen)

Options bar, make sure the Opacity is set to 100%

Make sure BLACK is in the foreground...

On the bottom of the Toolbox, make sure BLACK is in the FOREGROUND and WHITE in the background

Paint on the Layer mask...

Make sure you have the MASK selected in the Layers pallette

To hide the part of the tattoo that is not over the model, paint on the layer mask

Remember if you hide too much, simply make WHITE the foreground color and "paint" it back on the layer mask!

Linked:

Unlinked:

Unlink the Layer mask...

To transform the tattoo, we need to UNLINK the layer mask

Click the LINK icon between the layer thumbnail and the layer mask.

This will unlink the layer mask from the layer and allow us to transform the layer withough affecting the layer mask.

Tattoo Layer Thumbnail selected:

Click the Tattoo Layer Thumbnail

This will show a white border around the layer thumbnail and activates the Tattoo layer rather than its layer mask.

Edit to Warp...

On the top left...

Choose EDIT>Transform>Warp

Grid:

Click on the points to move and warp the tattoo:

Grid and Warp...

At the top in the Options bar, open the Grid Menu and choose a 3x3 Grid.
